CLEAN EQUIPMENT ATTRACTS TONS OF INTEREST ON CENTRAL ILLINOIS SALE
One of the very nicest farm retirement auctions I've seen in 2009 was back 2 weeks ago, on December 14, 2009 in central Illinois. The farm auction was by auctioneer Cory Craig. Cory sent me a complete list of all the sale price data, along with comments on all the pieces of equipment......thanks Cory, great stuff! Cory said the "phone rang off the hook the week prior to the auction. The sale exceeded the seller's expectations." Cory said he had buyers from (7) different states and (1) from Ontario, Canada. Some of the HOT items on the sale according to Cory were: 1985 JD 400 30' front-fold rotary hoe: $6,600
2005 JD 2210 field cultivator, 35.2': $33,000
2000 Triple K 3500 field cultivator, 28.8': $20,000
2003 CaseIH 3950 disk, 29'9": $25,250 (NEW RECORD HIGH PRICE...Cory said 40-50 calls on disk)
1990 IHC 4900 tandem air tag truck, 200K miles, 20' aluminum bed: $25,750

I spoke on the phone today with Terry from southern Illinois. Terry was at the Dec. 14th auction I write about above. He agreeed...a real humdinger of a sale. Well, only a few days left in 2009 here....so you know what that means, tons of folks scrambling to make those last minute equipment purchases for the purpose of 2009 tax writeoffs. I had a guy call me yesterday looking for values on a JD 1291 corn head.
