PETE REPORTS ON PAIR OF FANTASTIC SALES IN IOWA & ILLINOIS I just entered sale prices into the web site from a pair of super duper farm auctions, one December 28th in west-central Iowa, the other from west-central Illinois yesterday (Dec. 30th). More strong sale prices being paid for the very nice used stuff available out there. I talked with auctioneer Tom Pauley of Pauley Family Auction and here are a few sale prices he recalled from the Dec. 28th farm auction in west-central Iowa: 2007 JD 8430 MFWD tractor with 944 hours: $180,000 2003 JD 8420 MFWD tractor with 1455 hours: $139,500 JD 6403 2WD tractor (no cab) with 800 hours: $18,000 1966 JD 3020 diesel tractor: $9,000 2008 JD 9670 STS combine with 645 engine hours: $187,500 2007 JD 893 8-row corn head: $33,000 (WOW!) Kinze 16/31 split-row planter: $74,000 2003 Hagie 2100 sprayer with 1107 hours, 80' boom, Outback guidance: $88,000 (WOW!)That Hagie 2100 sprayer that sold for $88,000....auctioneer Tom Pauley told me he inquired with a couple regional dealers prior to the auction, asked what they thought it was worth/what it would bring. Dealers guessed $20K - $25K. Oops, missed by just a smidge. Tom reported approximately 500 bidders for this exceptional line of equipment. ANOTHER SUPER SALE BY SULLIVAN AUCTIONEERS (DEC. 30th) Some sale price highlights from their farm auction yesterday near Quincy, IL (WCIL): 2002 NH TJ325 4WD tractor with 1536 hours: $93,000 2005 TG230 MFWD tractor with 968 hours: $90,000 2000 NH TS100 2WD tractor with 2476 hours: $20,500 2005 NH CR940 combine with 1058 engine hours: $132,000 2007 NH 98C 6-row corn head: $18,500 2005 NH 74C 25' grain platform: $12,000 2003 JD 1790 12/23 split-row planter: $48,500 2006 J&M 875 grain cart: $23,000 1990 IHC 9400 tandem grain truck, Wheeler 17' steel grain bed, sharp: $26,500** THE SCOOP ON J&M 875 GRAIN CARTS ** Almost 3 years ago to the day, on a sale Dec. 28, 2006 in southeast North Dakota, a 2003 model J&M 875 grain cart in "good" condition sold at auction for $18,500. That was the HIGHEST sale price I had seen up to that time on a J&M 875 grain cart........Things have changed in the last 3 years.
