1991 JD 4755 MFWD tractor with 4294 hours (683 on new engine) sold for $54,750 on east-central Illinois sale Wednesday - 1/9/2010

WOW: STRONG PRICES FROM EAST-CENTRAL ILLINOIS SALE WEDNESDAY
I just got a sale price report from my good friends at Bauer Auction Service, prices from the farm retirement auction they held Wednesday (Jan. 6th) near Newton, Illinois (east-central IL). A nice line of clean used equipment. I've listed a few sale price highlights below. I don't think there can be much doubt....the extreme scarcity of farm auctions (just not many sales in 1st 1/2 of January, anywhere in U.S) is having a pronounced affect on used equipment values, especially on TRACTORS.

  • 1991 JD 4755 MFWD tractor with 4294 hours (683 on new JD engine): $54,750
  • 1978 JD 4640 tractor with 7083 hours (2000 hours on engine overhaul): $27,250
  • 1970 JD 4020 diesel console tractor (no cab) with 5930 hours: $9,750
  • 1990 JD 9500 combine with 3026 engine hours: $26,000
  • JD 918 platform: $4,800
  • JD 643 6-row corn head: $5,100
  • EZ Trail 510 auger cart, like new: $8,400
  • 1976 Ford F750 grain truck, 14.5' grain bed, 59K total miles: $4,250
  • 1974 IHC Loadstar 1600 grain truck, 14.5' grain bed, new brake system, 45K miles: $4,700
  • CaseIH 496 24' disk: $10,800
  • White 6200 12R-30 corn/13R-15 soybean planter: $23,500
  • JD 724 24' 5-shank soil finsiher: $7,000
  • DMI 527 Ecolo-Tiger disc chisel, 5-shank: $8,400
  • IHC 27' rotary hoe, front fold: $1,250

With so few auctions around and implement dealer lots still not exactly bursting with real good condition tractors with a bit of age on them, what we see are very strong prices like these paid for the (2) headliner tractors on this east-central Illinois auction. $54,750 for the 1991 JD 4755......I've only seen (6) 4755's sell for more $$ at auction over the last 10+ years. The highest auction sale price on a JD 4755 I've seen? $61,500 for the 1990 model 4755 with 3766 hours sold this past August 2009 on a sale in northeast Indiana.
