* PETE TO SHOOT VIDEO AT 3 SALES IN 3 STATES THIS WEEK *
I'm going to put some serious miles on this week before Christmas 2009. Shopping? Nope. Covering and shooting video of machinery auctions. Tuesday (Dec. 15th) I'll be at Ritchie Brothers Auction's big sale in southeast Minnesota. Quite the scene to watch RB Auction roll all type of equipment...big, small, old, new across their sale stage. Indoor seating, like a movie theatre. That will be nice tomorrow as the temp here today was 1 degree. By Thurday (Dec. 17th) I'll be way down in southwest Kansas for the huge farm auction by Del Peterson & Associates. TONS of late-model equipment on that sale. I think a huge custom hay operater selling out his equipment line. Then Saturday (Dec. 19th) I'll be in northern Illinois for a real nice farm retirement auction by my auctioneer friend Darryl Dahl. More great late-model, low hour equipment on that sale. ** PRICES FROM GREAT FARM SALE YESTERDAY IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS **
Well, that central Illinois auction yesterday (Dec. 14th) by auctioneer Cory Craig that I had my eye one....it was a humdinger alright. Check out a few sale price highlights:

  • 2004 JD 9220 4WD tractor with 1210 hours: $133,000
  • 2004 JD 8220 MFWD tractor with 1197 hours: $116,000
  • 2006 CaseIH 55DX MFWD tractor with 118 Loader & 380 hours: $22,100
  • 2004 JD 9560 combine with 1636 engine hours: $145,000
  • 2004 JD 625F grain platform: $22,000
  • 2004 JD 893 corn head: $27,000
  • 2002 Timpte 33.5' Ag hopper grain trailer: $25,000
  • 2005 J&M 875 grain cart: $22,000
  • 2003 JD 1770 NT 16R-30 planter: $69,000
  • 2005 JD 2210 field cultivator, 32': $33,000
  • 2003 CaseIH 3950 29'9" disk: $25,250 (WOW!)

    Another RECORD HIGH sale price on a DISK there (see note on DISKS below) with that 2003 CaseIH 3950 (29'9") sold for $25,250. I checked our "auction results" database and found the next highest sale price on a CaseIH 3950 Disk I've seen in the last 5 years is $22,750. Keep an eye out for other really nice DISKS coming up for sale here in the next few weeks.....I'm betting more high sale prices on the way.

    * 166 NEW PRICES ENTERED YESTERDAY (DEC. 13) FROM MISSOURI *
    Watching football, typing in auction sale price data....how else could I spend a nice wintry Sunday afternoon in mid December? :-) Working on sale prices from large dealer auction last week in southwest Missouri. Lot of hay equipment, garden tractors, smaller HP tractors. Good stuff.

    PRICES ON NICE DISKS GOING THROUGH THE ROOF
    Last Thursday (Dec. 10th) on a very nice auction in south-central Kansas by Stock Auction Company, a 2006 JD 650 32.5' disk sold for $38,750. How high is that? Well, in our "auction results" section we have (57) auction prices on JD 650 DISKS....next highest sale price? $29,000 (like new 25' sold 11/16/07 in southeast Idaho).

    ** NEW "AUCTION OF THE WEEK" VIDEO POSTED **
    We just posted a new "Auction of the Week" video featuring video highlights from a very nice farm auction last Saturday in south-central Minnesota by my friends with Kahler Auctioneers.     * WOW: 1959 JD 730 STANDARD GAS TRACTOR FOR SALE (1 of 292) *
    My friend Aaron Siefker of northwest Ohio just emailed me a sale bill for his upcoming farm auction Jan. 2, 2010. Great looking sale with lot of nice late-model equipment. But also this gem: a 1959 JD 730 standard, gas tractor (1 of only 292 built), factory 3pt., new 18.4-30 tires, power steering, restored. Aaron sent me a couple pics of that 730....a real sweetie!     Ok, we've got the 1st video highlights of Tuesday's (Dec. 1st) "Auction of the Decade" out in east-central South Dakota posted here on the web site. Click on the "Machinery Pete Video" link above to have a look see. The sale crowd yesterday was about as LARGE as I've ever seen for a farm auction. Simply amazing. RECORD HIGH sale prices were falling right & left. Quite a day at the auction :-)

    ** CATCH MACHINERY PETE ON RFD-TV EACH WEEK **
    The "Successful Farming Machinery Show" airs every Thursday night at 8 pm CST and Sunday evening at 9 pm CST on RFD-TV. If you have Directv, RFD-TV is channel 345. RFD-TV is also on the Dish Network (channel 231) and a growing # of regional cable outlets. If your cable company doesn't carry RFD-TV, give them a buzz and let 'em know they need to look at carrying THE cable channel for rural America. My "Machinery Pete" segment on the 1/2 hour weekly show is just me yakking about recent trends in the used farm equipment market, highlighting auction sale price data of note from around the country.
