NEW RECORD PRICE ON JD 338 BALER ON MISSOURI SALE THURSDAY
Wow, another super duper farm auction Thursday (Feb. 4th) by my friends Dan & Jim Sullivan with Sullivan Auctioneers. This sale was near Palmyra, Missouri in the northeast corner of the state. Just a great line of very well cared for, clean equipment. The kind of used equipment that has been in such high demand here of late. Check out a few sale price highlights:

  • JD 338 baler, 1 owner, still has paint on pickup teeth!: $17,000
  • 2004 JD 8320 MFWD tractor with 627 hours: $131,500
  • 1995 JD 6400 MFWD tractor, cab, 2853 hours, JD 640 loader: $46,000
  • 1980 JD 4440 tractor with 4047 hours, air converted to R134: $33,000
  • 1996 JD 9400 combine with 2066 engine hours: $52,250
  • 1998 JD 918F grain head, nice!: $11,000
  • JD 643 corn head, low tin, oil bath: $8,000
  • 2007 JD 2210 field cultivator, 30.5', over few acres, like new!: $27,250
  • 1999 JD 637 disk, 21'9", 7.5" spacing: $19,000
  • 1995 JD 750 15' no-till drill: $19,000
  • JD 7200 6RN planter: $9,500
  • 2009 J&M 620 grain cart: $18,750
  • A&L 350 grain cart, perfect condition: $6,500

So that JD 338 baler......$17,000. Whoa. I just checked our "auction results" database and found that $17,000 is the HIGHEST auction sale price I've seen. A new record. Here are the previous high sale prices:

    JD 338 Square Baler Prices

  • $15,000: sold 4/1/06 on auction in southeast Michigan
  • $15,250: sold 2/26/02 on auction in southwest Michigan

We hope to be posting video from this great sale yesterday in northeast Missouri here in our "Machinery Pete Video" channel this weekend, so be sure to check back for that.......I can't wait to see this video :-)

COME ALONG WITH PETE ON ROAD TRIP TO AUCTIONS NEXT WEEK
Next week is going to be fun. I'm heading to southern New Mexico town of Las Cruces to cover a very unique machinery auction. It's a week-long auction featuring all types of farm & construction equipment. But the cool part? The auction is conducted in 3 languages....English, Spanish and German. Here's a link to a story I wrote about this auction yesterday for www.Agriculture.com: http://www.agriculture.com/ag/story.jhtml?storyid=/templatedata/ag/story/data/1265303841152.xml , just paste this link into your browser to read the story. I will be shooting video at the New Mexico auction next Wednesday (Feb. 10th) and will get video highlights posted here on our web site (click on "Machinery Pete Video" link on homepage). Should be fun to watch the German & Spanish auction auction! The next day (Feb. 11th) I'm zipping up to south-central Kansas, near Wichita, to cover a very nice farm auction by Stock Auction Company. Great line of John Deere equipment on that sale, including a JD 9220 4WD tractor. Then on Friday, Feb. 12th I'm stopping in at a small, but nice farm auction in northwest Missouri by auctioneer Eddie Pickett. That sale features some nice CaseIH equipment, including a CaseIH MXM 130 tractor with only 540 hours. Also a Case 2096 2WD tractor with only 2779 hours on that northwest Missouri sale. I will be posting video highlights & other video goodies from these 3 auctions next week, so check back here for my video breadcrumb trail of my road trip.

AUCTION PRICES FROM NORTHWEST IOWA FARM SALE
This morning I got a nice note from auctioneer Steve Gaul with Brock Auction Company in Lemars, Iowa. Steve passed along a sale price report from a nice farm auction they had back on October 31, 2009. Here are a few sale price highlights:

  • 2004 CaseIH DX45 sub compact MFWD tractor with 89 hours & LX116 loader: $18,750
  • 1966 IHC 1206 tractor with 6283 hours, turbo, diesel, WF: $13,500
  • 1966 IHC 806 tractor, gas, WF: $3,750
  • 1962 IHC 560 tractor, gas, 6143 hours, NF: $2,800
  • 1962 IHC 460 tractor, gas, NF, 7837 hours: $3,900
  • Cub Cadet 3240 garden tractor, 175 hours, 54" cut: $1,950
  • JD DP6000 generator, 6000 watt: $600
  • SpeeCo 22 Ton hyd. log splitter, like new: $1,100

IHC 1206 tractors have REALLY been interesting to watch here the last couple years. Boy, I've seen a few "off the charts" sale prices stream in on these 1206's. Here's what I'm talking about:

  • 1965 IHC 1206 with 2222 hours, sold 4/4/09 southwest Michigan: $30,000
  • 1966 IHC 1206 with 3696 hours, restored, sold 9/6/08 west-central Iowa: $32,250
  • 1967 IHC 1206, sold 9/6/08 west-central Iowa: $23,500
