New Video Clip Posted of JD 338 Baler Selling for $17,000 on recent Missouri Auction - 2/18/2010

NEW VIDEO POSTED: BEST AUCTION ACTION I'VE SEEN
You gotta check this one out. I just posted a new "Machinery Pete Video" this afternoon (Feb. 18th). Video footage & highlights from a very, very nice farm retirement auction held February 4, 2010 in northeast Missouri by Sullivan Auctioneers. The section of the video that really gets me is the part showing the JD 338 baler selling. It sells for a record high auction sale price. But more than just a number, a sale price, I think the video clip of this 338 baler selling captures the current reality of the used farm equipment market. Here we've got a very, very nice condition, one owner piece of equipment up for sale. How many auctions have there been around the last 1, 2, 3, 6 months? More like how many auctions there HAVEN'T been. If you go shopping used equipment on dealer lots, you know the score. Dealers take in this super condition one-owner equipment and quite often that item is already spoken for, it doesn't even hit the lot. So we've got an increased # of folks scouring, looking, hunting for good used equipment..........ooh, now here is this cherry condition JD 338 baler (or the 15' JD 750 no-till drill later in this video), just what you've been looking for. What will it sell for?

More than you'd have guessed.

But this video clip on the 338 baler.......just makes me smile. The rapid fire bidding, excitement in the air. It's a beautiful thing. One more thing it makes me think........IT REALLY PAYS TO TAKE GREAT CARE OF YOUR EQUIPMENT!

NEW: FREE "CLASSIFIEDS" ON MACHINERYPETE.COM
Got any items you're looking to sell? Why not list them in our new FREE "Classifieds" section? You can even upload 2 pics of each item you have for sale. Get your equipment out in front of more eyeballs all over the U.S. & Canada. Couldn't hurt. I can't tell you many folks I've talked to over the last couple years.......folks that have sold PLANTERS, TRACTORS, TRAILERS, anything & everything to buyers from 2, 3, 5 states away. The world is a smaller place these days. To be a seller of used equipment right now and to not list your equipment on the internet......you'd be doing yourself a disservice.

NEW BOOK JUST RELEASED: MACHINERY PETE'S 2010 AUCTION PRICE GUIDE
Those of you who have been following my auction price data for a while now probably remember our "F.A.C.T's Report" books we used to publish. From 1989 up through 2006 we were putting out 3-4 new F.A.C.T's Report books a year. Back in late 2006 I shelved the "F.A.C.T's Report" in book form and began to publish annual price guides with my partners at Successful Farming magazine. We have printed 2 "Rust Book" editions that have our auction sale price data on older equipment. Also back in 2007 we released a book called "What's it Worth?" that featured our auction price data on newer equipment (stuff from 0-30 years old).

Well now I'm happy to announce we've begun to print a annual book with our auction price data on newer equipment. And issue No. 1 is out this week......."Machinery Pete's 2010 Auction Price Guide". It has the last 18,000 auction prices I've compiled on equipment 0-30 years old. All equipment categories covered. Sale price from 2009 reaching back into 2008, so you're catching the latest run up in used equipment values. Cost for our new book is $19.95 + $5 S&H, so $24.95. To get your copy today, just call me at 1-800-381-0423 (507-281-0423 in Canada), or drop me an email at greg@machinerypete.com. I just got the first shipment of new books in today. HOT OFF THE PRESS :-)

** THOUGHT OF THE DAY: POWER OF DOING SOMETHING NICE **
I got an email earlier this week from a fairly new subscriber to our Machinerypete.com web site. Just a nice enouraging note. Made me think. In this world of negativity that we're living in......the amazing power there is in simple acts of kindness. A nice email saying "way to go", "thanks for what you do". Maybe a little hand written note to a colleague or friend telling them "nice job". I know I'm guilty of this myself....thinking these things, but then not actually dropping that note or email. I'm going to try to reverse this. I'm just struck by what "day brighteners" these little simple words & notes are. I think its a shared human trait for us to hold on to & remember the negative comments rather than the +. I don't know why that is. It shouldn't be. Perhaps just because we don't share enough kind words, thoughts & notes?? Try it, tell a buddy (or better yet, your kids or spouse) "way to go, good job, I'm proud of you". I think you'll find that YOU will be lifted by the simple act and I KNOW your buddy, kid or spouse will have a brighter, more pleasant day because of your + note or words.

Little, simple things......can add up to BIG + results.
