The sold for $19,000 each. * NEW VIDEO COMING TOMORROW: WEST-CENTRAL ILLINOIS AUCTION * I'll be posting a new Youtube video tomorrow (March 5th) featuring highlights of a nice farm auction held Feb. 25th in west-central Illinois. Good stuff, check back to check it out. I'll also be working on posting another Youtube video, this one featuring video highlights & sale price info from a nice farm auction in west-central Ohio last Saturday (Feb. 27th). I'll have camera in hand and set out this Saturday (March 6th) to shoot video at a machinery auction.......where will I be? Stop back to find out. I'll be posting the video highlights, plus should have video from another nice auction near Viroqua, WI this Saturday by Sweeney Auction Services. That auction features a 1993 Agco 9690 MFWD tractor with 6,149 hours; also a 2002 Agco RT115 MFWD tractor with 2,741 hours and a FL500 loader. This Wisconsin sale also features a Claas Jaguaar 820 self-propelled forage chopper with 4,438 hours and 6-row narrow corn head and 10' hayhead. Should be interesting to see how these items sell. I was up in Edmore (about 90 minutes NW of Grand Forks, ND) yesterday to speak at their annaul "Soybean Day". Sure met lots of nice folks. Had fun talking used equipment with anyone interested. The event was held in the old "Auditorium" in the center of town. Great old historic building. Old wood floor basketball court with small little elevated stage. Tons of charm. I had a nice chat with John Vasicheck of the Red River Farm Network (RRFN, www.rrfn.com) yesterday before I spoke. John is involved with marketing for RRFN. Check out their web site if you've never been. John and his RRFN team of professional ag radio broadcasters are top notch, they do consistently great work. John was telling me they sent one of their own, Don Wick, to Afghanistan a few weeks back along with U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack. They've got pics of Don's trip to Afghanistan on their web site, www.rrfn.com. John said Don was struck by how farmers over in Afghanistan were like farmers right here in our neck of the woods. I saw the same thing last month when I was down in southern New Mexico and had the opportunity to visit with farmers from Mexico who came north for the big machinery auction in Las Cruces, NM. Very similar issues & concerns. Very helpful I think to talk to farmers and other ag folks in different parts of the country, or world. A wider and more informed perspective is NEVER a bad thing.
